CHARLES LAPICQUE

1898 - 1988

Is a French artist from the Nouvelle Ecole de Paris. Audacious, the painter opened himself to the world by knowing how to perfectly blend his artistic concerns and his scientific observations. An unwitting precursor, Charles Lapicque is a genius of invention, a unique artist. This innovator analyzes and reconstructs reality with a lot of imagination and fantasy. An exceptional painter, Charles Lapicque has addressed a multitude of subjects (tigers, music, music, tennis players, horse races, regattas, naval maneuvers, Rome, Venice...) with a technique that is both Abstract and Figurative. Through his pictorial and scientific research, the artist was able to give a new role to color in painting.
