JEAN MIOTTE
1926 - 2016
Is a French painter. His personal abstraction places him at the border between Informal Art, Tachism and Lyrical Abstraction. Jean Miotte is known for the way he transmits energy through colors, he is particularly attached to the representation of movement in his pictorial work. It is through his totally free and spontaneous gesture that he builds his canvas. The space is transformed into a field of tension in color that is formed as well by his knowledge of construction as by his artistic spontaneity. Non-figurative gestural abstraction, generally identified by “Art Informel”, is therefore an art born in the post-war decade and resulting from the denial of any traditional form.
