Gérard Guyomard (1936) is a French painter, attached to the Narrative Figuration movement. He will have had two closely intertwined lives.
First, that of a restorer of paintings working for the Louvre and the Prado. Then that of an enthusiastic creator who has been working since the beginning of the 70s to tell the world as he observes it from his window.
Those who run, those who stroll, those who laugh, those who love each other.
He is constantly experimenting with plastic, using collage, layering, as well as photocopy transfer processes, creating a vocabulary of images inspired by daily life and erotic fantasies.
The superposition of objects, scenes of all sizes, intertwined, allow him to restore the sensation of the third dimension through transfers, transparencies of lines and signs.
In particular, you can admire his works in Paris at the National Library and at the Maternity Hospital Lariboisière.
“I paint what I see.”
“Some have done political figuration, I was a dissident in my own way by introducing eroticism into my canvases.”
